#172 - Black and White

Went for a walk around Smithville Park named for an old factory complex that was known for producing quality woodworking machines from the 1870's and on.  They also were recognized as manufacturing bicycles that won numerous championships in the 1890's.

nice shot and a great history behind it.

I'm actually not real happy with this one :( I lost some clouds during the conversion and I lost a ton of detail when attempting to post the photo to flickr. I really need to find another solution soon.

But thanks for the nice comment :)

Mike, it's a great composition and a fascinating industrial ruin. I'd be curious about your upload process - you really shouldn't be losing detail through saving/posting.

I learned I goofed. I wasn't getting the correct size to link, now when you click on the photos I have a larger size available. Still not happy with losing my clouds for the B&W conversion. Looks like I need a bit more learning in that department :)
